3DMark Vantage:

3DMark® Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests, several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark® Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API from Microsoft.  3DMark Vantage can also test your video card in several different ways. 

For the purposes of our bench, we will be testing with the Performance, High, and Extreme Presets.  Here are our results:

Vantage Performance:

In Vantage Performance, the 4890 Toxic scores 8.66% over stock when overclocked by 7.8% on the core and 2.9% on memory.  The graphics sub score increases by 10.24%. 

Vantage High:

On the High Preset, the Graphics subset is improved by 8.5% while the total score improves 8.1% for the total score. 

Vantage Extreme:

On the Extreme Preset, the Graphics subset is improved by 8.5%, while the total score improves by 8.4%. 

3DMark06:

Futuremark's 3dMark06 has long been the go-to benchmarking tool when it comes to synthetic benchmarking.  Love it or hate it, there is no question that 3DMark06 has been the measuring stick of video card performance industry wide for several years.

In 3DMark06, the overclocked Toxic scores 5.4% higher than stock in the SM 2.0 test, 6.1% in the SM 3.0 test, and 4.9% in the overall test score.
