Packaging
Sapphire is one of the largest manufacturers of ATI products in
the world. This experience shows in the attractive and
informative packaging used in the HD4870 line. The box
prominently displays the critical product information and included
software right on the front. It is also nice to see the Silver
Surfer like guy back instead of the usual gambit of animated girls
with swords we seem to see everywhere these days.

The back and sides of the packaging continue the theme while
providing all of the critical product features in easy to understand
text for the less techie among us. Sapphire even provides a
solid list of specifications and system requirements right on the
side.

Inside the box we find the card nicely wrapped and surrounded by a
layer of foam padding. The accessories and software are kept
beneath this second layer for extra protection. While we have
been spoiled by the Atomic Edition cards here at the Club, this is
plenty of protection for shipping.

Accessories included with the HD4870 include the Driver Disk
Ver. 12-099, a full DVD suite from Cyberlink including
PowerProducer 4, Power Director 5 Express, Power2Go 5.5, Medi@show 3
and several other trials, PowerDVD v7, Rudy ROM Ver. 1.1 and
the full version of 3Dmark Vantage.
The RubyROM CD includes Call of Juarez, Dungeon Runners,
Stranglehold, Earthsim, and Gameshadow, as well as wallpapers and a
screensaver.
The package also included a CrossfireX bridge interconnect, DVI
to HDMI adapter, DVI to VGA adapter, HDTV Component out adapter and
a couple of power adapters.
