Case Buy EZ Power
Supply Tester 2

We have long been fans of any product that will make
help diagnose systems problems. The EZ Power Supply Tester 2 is an easy to use
device that will test your PSU and let you know that all of the lines are
working properly. This takes the guess work out of determining why your system
will not boot or exactly where that puff of smoke came from while you were
gaming last night.

The EZ Power Supply Tester 2 is enclosed in a
smart looking anodized aluminum housing. The full instructions are silk screened
on the housing. This is great for those of us that can't be bothered with
finding or keeping paperwork.

At the top of the unit you will find the SATA
power test port and at the bottom, the 4 pin Molex. All other test ports
are one the left side.

Instructions and use:

The instructions shown here are on the
packaging. You quite simply plug your PSU in the 24 pin connector, turn on the
PSU power switch (if you have one) and your PSU will be operating with the fans
running. You then plug in your 12v and accessory lines in one at a time to check
their condition.

Here we are testing the general condition of
our PSU and one of the SATA power connector. This is as easy and noob proof as
testing gets. If you can read and plug in a connector, you can use the EZ Power
Supply Tester 2. The +12v, +3.3v and +5v LED's on the left indicate that out
SATA connector is functioning properly. The lights on the right indicate that
our PSU is in good working condition.
Conclusion:
Deciding if you have a bad power switch or
blown PSU can be tough without a tester. Sure, you can use a screwdriver to
bypass your case switch or jump start your PSU with a paperclip, but this still
won't tell you if you have a dead connector or one bad power rail on your PSU.
Purchasing a new unit to test your system is costly and grabbing your old 20 pin
low power PSU to test your modern power hungry system might not work as
planned.
I personally own the original EZ Power
Supply Tester (20 pin only) and have found it quite useful when my system
suddenly develops power issues or just plain refuses to start up. The EZ
Power Supply Tester 2 adds 24 pin, 8 pin 12v, SATA and PCI-e connector support
the mix, making it useful for all modern power supplies. This products ease of
use insures that anyone, regardless of their technical ability can use it
properly.
A power supply tester is a must have tool
for any serious computer enthusiast or gamer. The low cost, backward
compatibility and versatility of the Casebuy EZ Power Supply Tester 2 puts it at
the top of our must have list.
