ButtKicker Gamer Review

With the rise in high end PC audio we have begun to see more and more systems running home theater quality sound.  Sadly this full spectrum sound cannot be duplicated in the headphone environment.  Lets face it, we all miss that booming bass!  With the ButtKicker Gamer, Guitammer hope to bring the same full range bass sound to your PC without massive subwoofers and without waking the neighbors.  Does full bass without the boom sound too good to be true?  Lets see the ButtKicker in action here at the Club.

The ButtKicker packaging is colorful and full of promise.  Featuring a picture of the ButtKicker device and a glimpse at the included 100 Watt amplifier.  I must admit at first glance the ButtKicker looks intriguing.

A quick tour around the box quickly fills in the blanks.  As you can see here, the actual ButtKicker attaches to your favorite gaming chair.

The box gives you all the information you need to know exactly what you are getting in the packaging.

  • The ButtKicker device
  • The ButtKicker 100W amp with stands
  • A 13.5" cable to connect the two and featuring a handy quick release
  • Adapters to integrate the system into your existing PC, console or home theater install
  • Velcro cable ties to keep the install looking clean and organized.

The back of the box shows you how the system is setup to integrate with your PC or other digital audio source.  This is my first experience with Guitammer and I am impressed with the quality and detail shared by the packaging.  Even the top invites us to "Lift here to view product!"

Our first glimpse of the actual ButtKicker!

Well, it looks good attached to the picture, lets get this box out of the way.

The box is packed in layers, first the ButtKicker device.

Nestled up in the top corner we find this ominous red warning page.  It seems the ButtKicker requires a Ground Loop Isolator to prevent feedback issues.  This late addition is not mentioned in any of the other documentation so don't forget this new installation step!

Three booklets are included to help with setup; The Product Information Guide, a handy Quick Start Guide and a Product catalog.

The 100 Watt amp is next.  Thankfully the amplifier is tightly packed as it makes up the bulk of the package and the weight.

The last layer is a box containing the remaining parts and cables.  The inclusion of both y adapters and cable extensions is a nice touch allowing for a wide variety of installation types and locations.  In addition to the parts listed on the side of the box, Guitammer also includes no stick feet and a standard power cable for the amp.
