Cheetah EP-450XP-C1B
Power Supply
Paul has
just finished showing off a power supply from ePower Technology that proves
there is no component on the PC build list that can escape a factory installed
mod. We've all seen factory installed LED fans being utilized as the
exhaust on power supplies, and ClubOC has even featured kits that replace the
exterior housing of a power supply with an acrylic shell accented with a Cold
Cathode light kit. In this review I'll show "The Cheetah", which is also from
ePower Technology and is basically the same unit as Paul's Jaguar, only the
Cheetah adds one more fan for ventilation.

Encased in a polished black titanium
chassis with inset deep blue windows, The Cheetah adds great looks to functional
necessity. Adding to the appeal is the light blue colored UV wrap found around
the 24-wire ATX power bundle, the 4-wire auxiliary power leads, and the
specialized Hard Drive/ VGA power lead. Three blue LED fans continue to add
sparkle while continuing to add to the functionality of the unit providing much
needed ventilation. The Cheetah uses what ePower calls "Top Silent" technology
to regulate the fans speeds during load percentages to eliminate wasted power
noise pollution. Rated at 23dbA @ 60% of full load, that makes this power supply
much quieter than the Y.S. Tech TMD fan I have screaming on top of the
Thermalright SLK-900 heat sink. For the protection of your entire PC; Over Volt,
Over Current, and Short Circuit protection are standard features on this power
supply.
