Antec TruePower Trio 650 Watt Power Supply Review

Out of the box:

Now that we have all that out of the way, lets take a closer look at the TruePower Trio 650.

First, I have to hand it to Antec.  No one packages a power supply quite like this.  There is no doubt things are going to arrive safely wrapped up like this!

The Trio ships with the usual power cable and installation screws, an extra cable tie and the users manual containing Antec's industry leading AQ5 five year warranty.

Once everything is un packaged, we get our first look at the power supply its self.  Following in the tradition of most of the TruePower line, the Trio is all business.  The gold fan cover over the single 120 mm fan is about the only thing fancy about  how this unit looks.

From the back of the power supply you can see Antec has chosen not to use a second fan for exhaust.  The Trio 650 also features universal input allowing it to automatically adjust from 100V to 240V power input.  The result makes the installed power supply look pretty clean.

The sides are also unadorned save for this labeling providing the power output at a glance.  With three +12 Volt rails totaling 57 A you can afford to let the power do the talking.  Did I mention your +12 Volt rails have a 624 Watt maximum output?  That's just awesome.

Lets take a closer look at the spaghetti.  The Trio 650 supports 4 x SATA connectors,  6 x Molex, one floppy, 2 x dedicated PCI-E connectors, one 20/24 pin power run, one 4/8 pin power run, a 3-pin fan sensor and 2 x fan only runs.  This setup is more than ready for just about any build combination.
