ABIT AG8 - LGA 775
Motherboard
We've already had a taste of Intel's 915 chipset, the LGA 775 CPU and
PCI Express video cards. As for the last brand we tested, I was excited
to see the new technology working, but was left unimpressed. Now it's
ABIT's turn. ABIT has sent over a couple motherboards and video cards
promising me that ABIT can do better than the other guys. Now I'm
excited about getting started once again! The first ABIT board we'll
tear into is the AG8, LGA 775 motherboard based on the Intel 915P
chipset. Are all 915 boards created equal, or does ABIT have the magic
touch? Let's dig into the board a little and see!
Specs
The AG8 is ABIT's version of
the Intel 915P performance chipset platform. With SATA RAID, Dual DDR
400, PCI-Express X16, IEEE1394, Gigabit LAN, ABIT Engineered μGuru, this
board is the performer of the year. Using the groundbreaking
Hyper-Threading Techniology and gushing with extra capacity and
peripherals support as well as first class onboard sound, this board can
easily be your foundation for a superb system.
