Vantec EZ Grip Molex Connector Kit

Keeping with the custom case and modification end of the spectrum, no company seems to make things easier for you then Vantec. Founded in 1994 with its main focus in thermal solutions for computer cooling, Vantec has been around for a long time, and rightly so. They seem to never stop coming out with great ideas for the case modder and computer enthusiasts. When UV hit the case modding scene a few years ago, you had to be a good DIY'er with some mad dremel skillz. Trying anything out with UV meant a trip to the paint shop to buy way more paint than you would ever need to mod your PC. Well times change, and now you generally don't have to mess with all the fuss. the hardest thing to understand is why is it so easy to grab all these mods, yet I still se so many PC enthusiasts with little if any mods to their PC's? Well hopefully with companies like Vantec continuing to evolve the case modding spectrum with their EZ Grip line up, it'll be just that much easier to do just that. Lets have a look at some EZ Grippage...

Features & Installation

The Vantec kit included everything you need to convert your existing plain-jane Molex's to UV ones. The neat thing is that they have included a neat little tool that makes it easier to remove the connectors. During installation the tool made it possible to convert every Molex on our Thermal Take PSU in about 20 minutes. the tool simply works, and for the overall price of the EX Grip Molex kit, including it gives the kit good overall value.

This is what comes with the kit. You should have enough plugs for your whole system, although I'm pretty sure that there are a few exceptions in the 550W variety that will need more. Our Thermal Take 480W left us with a few extra's...

The Molex removal tool included in the Vantec kit.

Another good thing to let you know about is the neat design of the Molex plugs themselves. Vantec redesigned the plug, but still adhered to the Molex standard. The plug is much easier to plug and unplug from your components. This should be important to those with AGP cards that require a separate power source, since we've found them to quite troublesome.

Notice the grip at the end of the Vantec Molex. From Vantec's Site: "Removing the power from devices inside your computer can be difficult with standard molex plugs.  The protrusions on the side of the molex are difficult to hold on firmly and, if you were to exert force, can leave your fingers feeling sore.  The Vantec EZ-Grip Molex connectors simplify the ordeal by putting flexible, rounded grips on the top and bottom of the molex connector.  Not only do these grips make it easier to hold, pressing down on the grips separates the connector from the device slightly, perfect for when the molex connector feels "stuck."  Vantec EZ-Grip Molex Connectors are available in a variety of UV reactive colors."

The Vantec EZ-Grip Molex kit is a worthy product that really focuses on the overlooked aspect of what sometimes needs to changed the most, simple Molex plugs. It's a really nice way to dress up the wires and cabling in your system, and when used in conjunction with their UV sleeving kit, can make your system look cleaner and easier to work on. You'll also have a bit more pride in your DIY PC, knowing that the best stuff in there glows to show off what your system is, and impression some might say. The EZ Grip kit comes highly recommend by us as a must have. its way too much value to pass up! So grab one and get moddin!!
