1 GB (2x 512MB) DDR2 (667) PC-5400
Corsair XTreme Series (TWIN2X1024A-5400UL)

As of right now, only the Pentium 4 utilizes DDR2. Intel themselves implemented it on their own chipsets, but it wasn't until the i925 made its debut that the performance margin was truly realized. While the 955X remains Intel's top performer for the LGA775 platform, nVidia has entered with their own chipset which is no slouch in the performance department. There have been many comparisons between the Intel 955X chipset, and the nVidia nForce4 SLI Intel Edition. Depending on the benchmarks that are utilized, the two chipsets offer fairly comparable performance, but the fact remains that SLI is a function that has yet to be showcased on the 955 chipset. So in a gamers eyes, the scales tip very favorably for the nVidia nForce4 Intel Edition chipset because of the simple fact that gaming performance with two video cards is phenomenal.

The release of the nForce4 SLI Intel Edition chipset also received some high clout backing. Corsair partnered with nVidia during the development of the memory controller and helped promote the launch of the chipset. To that end, we have before us a dual channel memory kit boasted for the nForce 4 SLI Intel Edition chipset. With Ultra Low latency timings, this pair of PC2-5400 modules packs some not quite so hidden potential. While the SPD programming on these moduels is set to 4-4-4-15, Corsair has given the TwinX1024A-5400UL kit a lifetime warranty and says to set the RAM voltage to 2.1 volts and manually adjust the latency setting in your BIOS to 3-3-2-8 timings. <smile> This is a practice that most Overclockers have been doing for years now with DRAM. However, now we're being TOLD to do it. </smile>

     Features & Specifications

Each pair of modules is tested together in an Intel based motherboard at 675MHz. Immediatly following these tests, the RAM is packaged together for retail.

Tested at latency settings 3-3-2-8 @ 2.1Volts
Implemented using 64M x 8 DDR2 SDRAM configuration
Lifetime Warranty

Anyone who has gone through the frustration of a failed component can appreciate the commitment to customer care that Corsair delivers. Their return policy is very fair and will usually have your replacement parts on the way back to you within 48 hours of receiving your return.
