Clavier Aluminium
(HCK-1S18A) Keyboard
As an average computer user, I am still getting used to all the
fancy stuff there is for customizing and dressing-up a pc. The compact
aluminum Hiper Clavier keyboard is quite an eye-catcher, and compact enough to
leave plenty of room on the desktop for those oversized mousepads everyone seems
to be getting. So what did I find out about this fancy keyboard?

To begin with we see that Hiper is all about showcasing the
flash and flare of the brushed aluminum casing, and the flat-top keys.

The back of the box has a generalized drawing of the key layout
with some specs, and an attention to the multimedia keys of this board.
The eight multimedia keys are the standard play/pause, stop, forward, reverse,
volume up/down, along with a WWW and an Email key.

Opening the box, I find the keyboard easy to remove from the
plastic shielding.

The brushed surface is smooth to the touch, yet easily detected
with a fingernail. The edges have a machined chamfer to eliminate
potential hazards for the user. Although the case is aluminum, the keys
are all plastic that has been coated with a metallic looking finish. Using
the keyboard, I can tell that they are a quiet membrane style key action rather
than the mechanical clicker style of my old trusty AT.

The standard three LEDs are above the number pad, and glow
bluish-white, pink, and purple for num-lock, caps-lock, and scroll-lock
respectively.
