     We were the first to announce these and now we are the first to have the prototypes in hand! When I first heard about these fan grills, I thought there were just like any other fan grill I've seen. Boy was I wrong!!! I guess it is because they carry the Marvel name that these fan grills are like no other.

      Fan grills are not exactly a necessary piece of computer equipment so they fall under case mods. Normally, functionality with case mods usually takes a back seat to looks. However, these fan grills are not only the best looking grills I have ever seen, but they are also very functional. At first look, the Spider-Man grill looks like it wouldn't block much air flow, but the Skull grill looks like it would restrict air flow by about 50%. To my surprise, these Marvel Fan Grills are nothing like ordinary fan grills! To work around the restricted air flow from the cool cutouts, the genius behind these grills put them on risers to increase air flow! Let's take a look at these bad to the bone Marvel grills!

     Man do these grills look awesome! The cutout design is just absolutely perfect and the coating looks more like a stain than paint. The Skull pretty much has a clear coat over the metal but the red Spiderman grill looks like it was dipped in red see though plastic. Very awesome... The grill is elevated by about a 1/4" by four aluminum spacers. The mounting screws are also unique as they have used Alen screws with ball style thumb fasteners. Ingenious... The people behind the design of these grills really deserve a pat on the back!

     The only problem I've found with these grills is the mounting screws that came with them. The ones I received were much too short to mount to a case and fan. However, these screws included may just be for looks only due to the grills being in beta and not final release. Hopefully, the manufacturer will include longer screws so that we can mount these grills correctly.

     To sum it all up, these Marvel Fan Grills are the best fan grills I have ever seen. Nothing I've seen compares! However, there are some minor problems. Don't worry, these problems have noting to do with the grills. The problem is that these fan grills are certainly to become a collectors item plus they are going to be made in very limited quantities. Believe it or not, but I see people scooping up these grills when they don't even own a computer just to collect them for the Marvel name. Lucky for me, I have two of the greatest fan grills ever made. On top of that, my grills are actual Marvel Prototypes which makes them even more rare! Can you say eBay fodder? Just kidding, I'll probably wrap them in plastic and sit them in the vault next to my old Spiderman comic books. Seriously, these things are nearly too good for everyday use. Maybe I'll dress up my system with these babies for the next local LAN...

     No doubt that the Licensed Marvel Comics Fan Grills will receive the Club Overclocker Seal Of Approval. The grills will soon be available at Cooler Guys so if you want one or two, you had better keep a close eye on their site!
